Neighborhood Block Watch Grant Application Submitted

We’ve officially submitted our application for 2024 Neighborhood Block Watch Grant Funds!

The Phoenix Police Department administers the Neighborhood Block Watch Grant Program which provides an opportunity to enhance the safety and quality of life in the City of Phoenix through empowerment of community groups like ours.

Grant program funds offer neighborhood groups the resources to create new and innovative programs and activities designed to prevent and reduce crime in our communities.

We applied for the full $15,000 in grant funding, which will be awarded in approximately August this year (2024). This grant funding will help us fund infrastructure items as well as specific initiatives in our community.

Infrastructure items like these will help outfit us for meetings and events:

  • Pop-up Shade Canopies

  • Portable Public Address System

  • Sandwich Board Signs

  • Liability Insurance

Planned initiatives like these will improve our community and prevent crime:

Street Sign Toppers

Street sign toppers help create a cohesive neighborhood identity to promote civic pride and prevent crime by signaling to outsiders that we’re an organized community that cares about what happens here.

Pet Waste Bag Stations

Pets are great, but their waste can present a public health hazard, creates blight, and makes our parks and sidewalks less pleasant. Providing bags along with a visual reminder to clean up after our pets will make our neighborhood safer and more enjoyable.

Block Watch Signs

These signs announce to all that our neighborhood is united to prevent crime. They’re a highly-visible reminder to residents that we must stay vigilant and make reports to Phoenix Police in order to ensure our community is allocated an appropriate level of law enforcement resources.
